Sam DeGonge
was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of New Jersey,
the Supreme Court of Florida and the United States District Court,
District of New Jersey in 1962. He served in the United States
Navy from 1953-1955. Sam received his B.A. from Fairleigh Dickenson
University in 1958 and his L.L.B. from Georgetown University School
of Law in 1961 where he was president of the Phi Delta Phi legal
fraternity.
Sam served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Ski
Defense Attorneys and long has been active in that organization.
He is a member of the Morris County, Essex County, American and
New Jersey State Bar Associations, the Defense Research Institute
and the New Jersey Defense Association. Sam is a Master in the
Worrall F. Mountain Inn of Court, Morris County, New Jersey.
Sam DeGonge has extensive jury and bench
trial experience in New Jersey State Courts (Law, Chancery and
lower Divisions) and Federal Courts. Mr. DeGonge has been active
in the defense of the ski industry, ski equipment manufacturers
and retailers in New Jersey for many years. His major areas of
work over the past 40 years have been in product liability, personal
injury and malpractice litigation, including toxic tort cases. Sam
retired from the active practice of law in January, 2006, but
continues to provide the benefit of his experience to the firm.
